Community Programs

Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative offers a variety of community programs. These programs include energy assistance, energy programs, loan programs, rebate programs, a safety program, and youth programs. Click on the links to the left for more information about these programs.

Energy Assistance:
SSVEC provides at no cost, technical assistance to our members with the latest information in regards to energy use, energy efficient HVAC, and appliances. We now have two online features that members can use to get the latest information on home energy use. The two online features are "Energy Suite" and the "Home Energy Calculator".

Energy Programs:
SSVEC offers two Energy Programs that promote energy efficiency and comfort. SSVEC has always placed a priority on promoting energy efficiency to their members. These programs are designed to help members save energy in their home.

Loan Programs:
SSVEC offers both a Member Loan Program and an EC Commercial Loan Program for Business Members.

Operation RoundUp:
As an SSVEC member, you now have the opportunity to help individuals and organizations in our communities through a program called Operation Round-Up®. When you sign up to participate in this program your electric bill is rounded-up to the next whole dollar amount. The additional money (from 1 to 99 cents) is placed into the cooperative’s Charitable Trust and these funds are dedicated to charitable projects within our service area. The program is flexible in that you may also give a one-time gift or a fixed monthly amount.

Rebate Programs:
SSVEC has three programs that offer Rebate Incentives for Energy Efficient Measures. All Programs reward members that help conserve our valuable resources. The Heat Pump, Water Heater, and the All Electric Home Rebates are offered to our members.

Safety Program:
SSVEC has partnered with Safe Electricity in an outreach program. This program is intended be a public awareness program for the dangers of electricity. It also teaches the steps people can take to be safe around electricity.

Youth Programs:
In 1984, SSVEC members approved a change in the cooperative’s bylaws to establish the Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative Foundation. The Foundation is a tax-exempt, charitable corporation. The purpose of the SSVEC Foundation is to support SSVEC’s ongoing youth programs: the Washington Youth Tour, SSVEC Foundation Scholarship Program, and the Youth Engineering and Science Fair.
